Sturdy Memorial Hospital Building Dedication
Sign Unveiling - The Augat Foundation Patient Services Building
In December 2013 we received a simple email from Lisa McCluskie, the Chief Marketing and Planning Officer at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She inquired "...is an installation possible at this time of year, e.g. will the cold weather effect how the building handles the drilling and installation, or should we plan for the spring?" Our response was a timely and positive reassurance that the weather would not be a factor, but production time of the letters could take a couple weeks from time of approval.
The following email correspondence were all marked "Confidential" and that is when the real fun began, researching different sizes and layouts that best suited the request at hand. We were matching the materials we used in a previous installation approximately 15 years ago for the main entrance sign at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
Once the design was approved it was time to tackle the next task - keeping the letters covered until it was time for the dedication. The weather and a newly installed security camera would play a part in this portion of the project. We had to be sure any covering we chose would not be transparent and would accommodate easy removal. We had the perfect plan in place for this to go seamless. In a not so surprising New England winter change of forecast, Mother Nature decided not to cooperate completely. The high winds kept us from leaving the unveiling committee with a quick release option. So we had to keep the 55’ aerial lift an additional day and be on site the day of the unveiling.
Despite the challenges, the design process, production of the letters and unveiling were all well received and went smoothly. After completing the project, we received the following feedback: “I am always pleased with the service provided by everyone I deal with at Signs By Tomorrow and confident that my needs will be met. This time was no different, in spite of the weather not being ideal. Signs By Tomorrow assured me the signage would be installed in time for our special building dedication and it was. Another job well done!” – Lisa McCluskie, Sturdy Memorial Hospital
